Job Title:  Safety Coordinator

 

Job Summary:  The Safety Coordinator will support the implementation and maintenance of safety-driven practices at assigned project job sites and/or divisions. This role involves coordinating safety, health, and environmental protection programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations in a construction and excavation environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:      

  • Assist in executing approved safety programs and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Deliver and facilitate safety training, including new employee orientations and ongoing education.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of safety devices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for safety audits, incidents, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with third-party providers, including insurance and medical care teams, as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in safety coordination or related roles in construction or general industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver presentations and training sessions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish, preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
