Job Title:  Foreman - Excavation (Commercial & Residential)

Job Summary:

The Foreman oversees and directs on-site construction operations for both commercial and residential projects. This role ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory standards. The Foreman provides hands-on leadership to crews, manages schedules, and coordinates equipment and labor resources to deliver high-quality results on time and within scope.

Duties and Responsibilities:      

• Lead and supervise on-site teams in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and project goals.
• Assign and delegate daily tasks while monitoring productivity and quality.
• Identify and implement improvements in construction methods, schedules, and processes.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of laborers and equipment operators.
• Collaborate with project managers and supervisory staff to resolve challenges related to work procedures, schedules, and team concerns.
• Coordinate the operation and maintenance of construction equipment to ensure safe and reliable performance.
• Enforce compliance with safety regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and MSHA standards, while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Respond effectively to project delays, weather conditions, and other on-site emergencies.
• Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to specifications, safety codes, and quality standards.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed to support project progress.
• Maintain accurate daily reports on labor, equipment, and material usage.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Foreman or in a supervisory construction role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and residential construction practices, equipment operations, and safety requirements.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
